Type C FIBC Bulk Bags, also known as grounded FIBC or conductive FIBC, are made from non-conductive PolyPropylene woven fabric interwoven with conductive fabrics sewn in a mesh pattern. This conductive tape network prevents dangerous electrical discharges and sparks by grounding the bag during charging and discharging. This model will connect the Jumbo bag to the ground through a ground connection point. When the bag is used for filling and discharging purposes, this ground connection is indispensable to ensure the safety of the Type C loose bag.
Type C FIBC bags have the following characteristics:
- Made of non-conductive polypropylene fabric
- The conductive threads are often sewn in a mesh pattern throughout the fabric. If made in a striped pattern, the fibers of the material used in the panels of the Type C bulk bag shall be spaced no more than 20mm. If the panels are woven in a mesh pattern, the distance must not exceed 50mm.
- In four-layer bags made of multi-layer material, both the inner and outer surfaces must have a resistance of less than 10 million ohm. For layers lacking grounding resistance below 10 million ohm, a breakdown voltage of 6kV is required.
- Conductive fibers connect the bag to the ground through the grounding point
- The threads are connected throughout the bulk bag by sewing multiple panels together
Note that Type C Jumbo bags provide safe and effective electrostatic protection only if they are free of any manufacturing defects and are properly grounded. All conductive elements in a type C FIBC bulk bag must be connected to a ground rod. This ground rod must be grounded when filled or empty to ensure safe use. Therefore, when using FIBC type C bags, we need to comply these principles:
- Permitted in dust zones 21-22 and in gas zones 1-2 (explosion groups IIA/IIB)
- Electrical properties may be affected by general usage, contamination and reconditioning
- All conductive objects, including personal shall be earthed during FIBC filling and emptying operations (see IEC/TS 60079-32-1 for guidance on earthing)
Uses for type C FIBC Bulk Bags
Type C Bulk Bags can be used to transport flammable powder or use when there are solvents, vapors, gasses or other flammable dust levels that reach MIE 3mJ in the bag.Specially, most them contain many goods such as: Activated carbon powder; Aluminum powder; Sulfur powder; Plastic flour; Cereal; Plastic beads; Fertilizer; Chemistry and others.
However, these bags should never be used when:
- There is no ground connection or it has been damaged
- In the presence of a flammable atmosphere with high ignition energy
Which bulk bag option is match for you?
Each type of FIBC bag is not made from similar materials so that it applies to different products. To better understand how to use FIBC bags, especially type C, you can use the table below:
Minimum Ignition Energy (MIE) of Dust | Non-Flammable Atmosphere | Explosive Dust Atmosphere | Explosive Gas and Vapor Atmosphere |
MIE > 1000 mJ (MegaJoules) | A, B, C, D | B, C, D | C, D |
1000 mJ ≥ MIE> 3mJ | B, C, D | B, C, D | C, D |
MIE ≤ 3 mJ | C, D | C, D | C, D |

Why trust K-Packing FIBC type C bags manufacturer?
K-Packing is the leading packaging manufacturer in Vietnam. We have 28 years of experience in the packaging industry. We specialize in producing all types of FIBC Bulk Bags including Type A, B, C, D, U-Panel, Baffle, UN certified, Food Grade and others.
Our specialty is that our Type C Jumbo Bags are being used with the most modern technology. Per inch of packaging, our Type C FIBC bags have a resistance to ground of 10.000.000 ohm. Therefore it can be antistatic very well. Our Type C bags are made of multi-layer material with 4 layers per bag. That ensures safety and durability.
In particular, we can flexibly produce according to customer requirements. Because we understand that each type of bag is suitable for a certain industry.
FAQs
Type C FIBC bags, also known as conductive FIBC bags, are made from materials that provide a low resistance path to the ground. They are designed to prevent the accumulation of static electricity by safely grounding any charge generated during filling or emptying of the bag. Type C FIBC bags are used for transporting flammable or combustible products that can ignite if exposed to an electrical discharge.
Type D FIBC bags, also known as antistatic FIBC bags, are made from materials that contain antistatic agents. These bags are designed to prevent the buildup of static electricity by dissipating any charge generated during filling or emptying of the bag. Type D FIBC bags are used for transporting products that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge but not combustible.
In summary, the main difference between Type C and Type D FIBC bags is the way they handle static electricity. Type C bags provide a conductive path to the ground, while Type D bags dissipate static charges.

Yes, of course. Our minimum quantity (MOQ) is 100 pcs, but we encourage orders above 1000 pcs for better pricing. This order was our initial cooperation so that you can check the quality of the goods. We hope that we can trust each other and have long-term cooperation.
Yes, Type A and B are cheaper than Type C. Type C Jumbo Bags are woven with conductive fibers and have conductive properties so the price is more expensive.
